Baseball, by the Rules

Pitcher Joe Ryan and catcher Ryan Jeffers, of the Minnesota Twins, react to a pop-up hit by Taylor Ward, of the Los Angeles Angels.
Infield Pop Up
The batter hits a high pop-up that arcs over the infield, attracting a gaggle of infielders beneath it. This is an infield pop-up, and it typically happens several times in any individual game. As long as a fielder catches the ball before said ball touches the ground, the batter is out— and the vast majority of times, that’s exactly what happens. But, a successful catch is not guaranteed.
